Wozniak and Steve Jobs founded Apple Computer in 1976. Between Wozniak's technical ability and Jobs' mesmerizing energy, they were a powerful team. Woz first showed off his home-built computer, the Apple I, at Silicon Valley's Homebrew Computer Club in 1976. After Jobs landed a contract with the Byte Shop, a local computer store, for 100 pre-assembled machines, Apple was launched on a rapid ascent. Woz soon followed with the machine that made the company, the Apple II. He single-handedly designed all its hardware and software, an extraordinary feat even for the time. They teamed together to invent the personal home computer. They both worked at Hewlett-Packard where they planned their future business together. Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak also proved their chops as hackers, and designed a telephone blue box. Jobs and Wozniak had learned enough to try their hand at building personal computers. Using Steve Job's family garage as a base of operation, the team produced fifty computers that were sold to a local Mountain View electronics store called the Byte Shop. The sale encouraged the pair to found the Apple Corporation on April 1, 1979. They both were very intelligent and had a goal they each wanted to reach. They both benefited millions from their inventions and innovations.
